Care: Rinse or wash can well by hand; do not put in the dishwasher. For best results, do not wash the filter. Each filter should last 3-6 months depending on usage.

Usage Tips:

Empty regularly for best results [2-3 times per week]. Rinse with your water hose when you empty it.
Use compostable liner bags or line the bottom with a coffee filter or newspaper for easier clean up.
When you buy replacement charcoal filters, it is better to choose a bigger size and cut to desired diameter than to buy a too small size.
You can also help control fruit flies by keeping a sprinkle jar of diatomaceous earth and sprinkle in your compost bucket after washing. Remember, fruit flies do not get into the bin. When you put fruit peels in the bin then within 24-30 hours, fruit flies can hatch from eggs that are in the fruit peels. The filter and lid will help prevent these fruit flies from getting out into your kitchen though.
